It moves through different places and gestures, using art to explore process and presence.
In this course, you will work with drawing, watercolour, photography, collage, and simple constructions. Each practice introduces a new way of observing and creating, always starting from clear exercises and visual guidance.
Along the path, we explore natural pigments, paper sculptures, and small worlds made by hand. The journey continues toward a final pop-up piece that brings together materials, images, and time spent creating.
This course is not about results or mastery.

Hey, I'm Lucas Lopes.
I’m a visual artist and illustrator, and my work is centred on the relationship between image, poetry, and making. My practice explores how images can open spaces for reflection, imagination, and attention to the world around us.
Originally from Brazil and based in Barcelona, I work with a range of materials and techniques, including watercolour, natural pigments, acrylic painting, paper sculptures, murals, and visual installations for libraries and cultural spaces. Alongside my artistic practice, I work as an illustrator, collaborating with publishers, theatre projects, and music initiatives. Over the years, I have developed projects with institutions such as Sesc São Paulo, Itaú Cultural, Caixa Cultural, and Fábricas de Cultura.
I also have extensive experience in art education, having worked for more than 10 years with children, young people, and adults in schools, cultural centres, and independent programs. This experience is present in my courses, The World Beyond Words and Art Practices to Disconnect and Reconnect, where I guide participants in creating paper characters and small visual narratives, combining technique, process, and visual poetry.
The courses are designed as an accessible first step, offering clear practices and space for experimentation, observation, and storytelling through images.

The course is composed of 7 modules with over 5 hours of guided lessons and creative exercises. You will be invited into a slow, intentional process, exploring different art practices that encourage reflection, presence, and experimentation. Each lesson can be paused, replayed, and revisited, allowing you to work at your own rhythm.
This course is open to all skill levels, from complete beginners to experienced artists seeking to step away from routine and reconnect with their creative flow. The modules are designed to be followed in order, gently guiding you through different forms of exploration, from observing the outer world to expressing your inner self.

MODULE 1
Exploring the Universe
In this module, you will work with watercolor to explore color, movement, and fluidity. Through intuitive painting exercises, you will learn to let go of control and create expansive, atmospheric works inspired by the universe.
MODULE 2
Exploring the World
This module focuses on photography and collage as tools for observation and storytelling. You will learn how to capture fragments of the world around you and combine them into expressive compositions that reflect your personal perspective.
MODULE 3
Exploring the Paths
Using drawing as a meditative practice, this module invites you to explore lines, shapes, and rhythm. You will map inner and outer journeys through mark-making, developing confidence and flow in your drawings.
MODULE 4
Exploring the Garden
In this module, you will work directly with nature, creating pigments from natural materials. You will slow down, observe your surroundings, and experiment with organic colors to build a deeper connection between environment and creation.
MODULE 5
Exploring the Home
This module introduces small paper sculptures as a way to explore space, form, and intimacy. You will transform simple materials into miniature structures, discovering how everyday spaces can inspire meaningful artistic expression.
MODULE 6
Exploring the Self
The final module uses pop-up art to explore identity, emotion, and personal narrative. You will bring your inner world into physical form, creating dynamic pieces that reflect your journey throughout the course.
